Sodexho Singapore began operating staff cafeterias in Singapore as Gardner Merchant in 1988. We changed our name to Sodexho in 1999 and have rapidly grown since then. Today, we manage a large number of contracts in Singapore and employ about 400 people.

At present most of our clients are concentrated in the business & industry and education sectors. Our clients have taken full advantage of the strength and depth of our global resources by delegating additional management responsibilities to us. In the last ten years we have grown from providing only catering services, to being a ‘One Stop Management Service.’ In addition to catering services, we also offer: housekeeping, cleaning, security, childcare, landscaping, gardening, property and asset management, waste management, pest control and site management. Our major clients in the Business and Industry sector include Caterpillar Asia, Sony, Coca-Cola and Mercedes Benz Center. Within the business and industry sub-sector, we also provide services to award winning hotels in Singapore like the Royal Plaza on Scotts and the Sentosa Resort & Spa.

In the Education sector, one of our most prestigious clients is INSEAD, Singapore where we provide complete management services including catering, cleaning, pest control and landscaping. INSEAD Singapore, a sister concern of INSEAD Paris, opened its doors in October last year. Sodexho played a major role within the opening team, which included kitchen planning and dining facilities during the construction of the campus. Sodexho was also proud to be the organiser of the opening ceremonies which included menu planning, wine tasting, floral services etc. A sumptuous buffet and several cocktail parties were organized for many VIP’s from both Singapore and Paris, including (Guest of Honor) The Senior Minister Mr. Lee Kuan Yew and Minister of Education Mr. Teo Chee Hean.

Our other highly regarded clients include United World College of South East Asia and Lycee Francais de Singapour.

We also provide site management, janitorial services, a medical centre and catering with Foster Wheeler, for a MPP plant, for Schering Plough construction, our first venture into temporary site management.

1. Recognised cooking qualification preferred but not a must
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in hands-on cooking of Thai authentic dishes
3. Experience in catering operation
4. Must be able to demonstrate success in managing food cost & control, menu planning & presentation, budget preparation & production planning
5. Ability to converse in simple English or Teochew/Mandarin/Hokkien is an added advantage
6. Excellent interpersonal skill
7. Based in Singapore
