| Looking for two chefs (one day shift, one night shift) and one chef's assistant to work in a new coffee shop/bookstore on the beautiful island of Koh Lipe, in South Thailand's Satun Province. The shop is owned by two Americans, and will serve simple western food such as sandwiches, salads, burgers, and bakery items. We will train for all recipes and cooking methods. For more information on Koh Lipe visit http://www.kohlipethailand.com/about_koh_lipe.php and http://www.welovekohlipe.com/about-koh-lipe/ The day chef will be responsible for each day's preparation work of salads, sauces, burgers, and the like, as well as for cooking the breakfast and all-day menus. Responsibilities will also include keeping a spotless clean kitchen, and some baking if bakery items run out. The day chef will also to preparation work for the night shift. The night chef will be responsible for cooking the all-day menu, any special night dishes, and on occasion will have to work late for late-night TV sports events. Responsibilities will also include keeping a spotless clean kitchen, and preparing bakery items for the following morning. The chef's assistant will work either a mid-morning to evening shift, or possibly a split-shift, and will be responsible for assisting the chefs with preparation and cooking as needed, as well as dish-washing and other as-needed assistance in the front of the house. Most important is a positive, cheerful attitude, and the ability to cope with change. This is a new business, and there will be a lot of testing and trying-out. If you're excited to get in on creating a new business (the only one of its kind on the island), even better! Also, you must be a citizen of Thailand. Chefs must have cooking experience (recent culinary school graduates may also apply), but experience with western food is not required. We will train for all recipes and recipe books will be provided in English and in Thai. The ability to speak some English is required (at least sufficient for basic job-related communication). If you can cook Thai food well, our menu will be easy to learn. |

| Housing will be provided (a private indoor concrete-walled room in the back of the shop with three new beds and private bathroom/shower). All meals also provided. In addition, chefs will be paid a salary of 7500 baht per month each, and the chef's assistant will earn a salary of 6000 baht per month. Monthly bonuses will be given provided that the shop does well for the month. If the business does well, our staff will be rewarded. Transportation to Koh Lipe from within Thailand will be provided. |
